Duncan practices predominantly in criminal law. He has extensive advocacy experience in the Federal, NSW and ACT jurisdictions. Duncan has a particular experience in forensics, high-tech crime, firearms and mental health. His practice also includes appearing in a wide variety of civil matters.

Duncan Berents was admitted as a legal practitioner in 2005.

Prior to being called to the Bar, Duncan was a
Senior Legal Officer for the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions. During his 6 years with the CDPP, Duncan prosecuted a diverse range of matters under NSW, ACT and Federal criminal law.
