Meredith Phelps was admitted as a solicitor in 1986. She commenced working with the Legal Aid Commission of NSW in 1990 as a duty solicitor. For a year from March 1995, Meredith was seconded to the Criminal Law Review Division of the Attorney General’s Department. Thereafter she returned to the Legal Aid Commission to work in its Indictable Section.

Meredith was accredited as a Specialist in Criminal Law in 1997.

Since coming to the Bar in 2001, Meredith’s main area of practice has been the criminal law. Meredith appears in Local, District and Supreme Courts and conducts jury trials.
Meredith’s practice has included advising and appearing in commercial and family law matters. She has general experience in personal injuries and industrial law.
