Terrance practices almost exclusively in criminal matters in the Local, District and Supreme Courts.
He was a founding member of Lachlan Macquarie Chambers in Parramatta.
In 1988 he was appointed as a Crown Prosecutor and appeared in the Sydney West District Court at Penrith conducting many jury trials until 1999.
In 2000 he commenced practice in Sydney, and practiced almost exclusively in the Supreme Court and conducted many jury trials for murder, including trials with multiple accused.
In 2006 Terrance was appointed as a Deputy Senior Crown Prosecutor.
In 2017 he returned to the private bar.
