Claire Wong was admitted to the Tasmanian Bar in 2019. Prior to this, she was admitted to the Supreme Court in Victoria in 2016 where she practiced as a solicitor advocate in a specialist criminal law firm and then at Victorian Legal Aid. Claire has experience running jury trials in the Supreme and District Courts, Migration matters in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, Family Law matters as well as extensive experience in bail applications, pleas and hearings in the lower courts.
Claire accepts briefs in all areas of law, but specialises in the areas of criminal law and family law.
Claire has Chambers in Sydney and Hobart.
She graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2015 with a Juris Doctor, having also obtained a Bachelor of Arts and a Diploma of Music. During her studies, she volunteered and worked as a legal clerk with both the Victorian and Aboriginal Legal Services. She currently sits as a member of the Criminal Law Committee of the Tasmanian Law Society as well as a member of the Australian Lawyers Alliance. She is a preferred Counsel for the Prisoners Legal Service in Tasmania.
