Background

Callan accepts briefs in all practice areas, with a particular focus on criminal and family law. He regularly appears in courts across New South Wales as well as in interstate and federal jurisdictions.

 

Prior to his call to the Bar, Callan worked as a solicitor at both Legal Aid and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions. He appears unled in all types of criminal matters including bail applications, interlocutory applications, mental health applications, trials, and sentences.

 

Callan regularly appears in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia in property and parenting matters, including for the Independent Children’s Lawyer. He has experience in interim and final hearings as well as in complex interlocutory disputes.

 

Callan is a member of various Legal Aid panels and is available to appear in both metropolitan and regional courts.
