Background
Dr Adam Booker is a barrister at Sir Owen Dixon Chambers with a practice focused on criminal, appellate and administrative law. Called to the Bar in 2017, Adam appears in trials, sentence proceedings, appeals and related applications, and undertakes prosecution work for the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions (CDPP). He brings practical experience from both prosecution and defence, including prior work with the NSW Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and the NSW Aboriginal Legal Service. Adam is appointed to all Legal Aid NSW panels, including the complex and appellate panels. His recent reported appearances include amongst others, Bridge v R [2026] NSWCCA 40; Turner v R [2025] NSWCCA 3; Testici v R [2025] NSWCCA 88; R v Cooke [2025] NSWDC 308; R v Ware (a pseudonym) [2024] NSWDC 424; R v Hearn; R v Paese [2025] NSWDC 228; Griffiths v R [2025] NSWDC 423 and R v Dawson [2025] NSWDC 166. Adam is a legal member of the NSW Mental Health Review Tribunal, was a statutorily appointed member of the Administrative Review Tribunal, and is nationally accredited as a mediator.
Adam also works as a lecturer at the University of Sydney Law School and has authored several papers on criminal law and criminal law processes.
