Background

Hayley was called to the Bar after 20 years practising as a criminal law solicitor, with 17.5 years practising in criminal defence work for Legal Aid NSW. Hayley was awarded Specialist Accreditation in Criminal law as a solicitor in 2013. Hayley was appointed as a Solicitor Advocate and appeared as counsel in trials, sentences, appeals, coronial inquests, parole board hearings, costs disputes and serious indictable children’s matters. Hayley has appeared before all levels of state criminal courts.

 

Hayley was nominated by the Law Society of NSW as a finalist for Government Solicitor of the Year in 2024 for her work on the Coercive Control laws, having written papers, appeared on podcasts and presented many seminars on the topic.
