Maddison Summerhayes

Maddison’s principal area of practice is common law with a particular interest in medical negligence, public liability and intentional torts including boundary violation claims.

Prior to coming to the bar, Maddison was an Associate at Carroll & O’Dea Lawyers and worked for both plaintiffs and defendants across a range of complex medical negligence and public liability claims.

Maddison has a health care background as a previously registered nurse in operating theatres. Maddison’s medical experience affords her the knowledge required to comprehend technical aspects of a case.

Maddison’s academic interests have focused on the topic of medical/health law. During her time at university, she completed her honours thesis on the topic of informed consent.
